Neighborhoods Ready for School

Neighborhoods Ready for School is a place-based initiative launched by First 5 Alameda County in 2018 to support equity and neighborhood-led investment, programming, and policy related to early childhood development, family health and well-being, and kindergarten readiness.  In 2023-24, we prepared a 4-year plan to continue our work. Read excerpts of the 2025-2029 work plan here. Our First 5 data profile describes our strategies and how we leverage our partnerships to ensure students and families are ready for school and beyond, through early childhood and caregiver supports.
