Our Approach
The Union City Family Center provides an innovative community school model. As the anchor organization for over 40 regional partners, we collaborate with educators, employers, public officials, social service providers, and community residents, to provide an integrated system of care, utilizing evidence-based practices, to support our community from toddlers to graduates and beyond.

For more than 12 years, we have had a significant impact on our region and community.
We have exponentially expanded and refined our services to support, We have grown from 10 partners supporting less than 1000 people per year to 4 times that many partners in a vast collaborative that can effectively address regional needs. Working with our partners, we help address urgent living needs such as food, clothing, and housing navigation; provide afterschool and summer enrichment and academic programs; implement community support for parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers; and support vision and oral health care for K-12 students. Together, we empower and engage individuals and families to plan for a successful future.

Engaging and Empowering Our Community to Thrive
We started as the Union City Kids’ Zone, a city-school district partnership to address achievement gaps, health disparities, and economic opportunities. Today, we continue to support school attendance, achievement, family engagement, and site-based health supports with an integrated hybrid community school and collective impact approach.
