September 2023: UCFC published its 2022-23 Annual Report, highlighting supports provided to unduplicated high need students, and summarizing the impact of 10 years of regional support services.
June 2023: UCFC presented at the 2023 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference. This standing room only event, Strategies for Building and Sustaining a Family Center, focused on lessons learned and ideas for replication from our ten years of service.
May 2023: UCFC receives Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for 10 Years of Service at a celebratory event attended by nearly 100 education, nonprofit and civic leaders, with keynote address given by 18th District of California State Assemblymember Mia Bonta, and additional remarks by Alameda County Board of Supervisors Elisa Márquez (Region 2), Union City Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci, New Haven Unified School District (NHUSD) Superintendent John Thompson and Board President Lance Nishihira. October 2022: UCFC hosted its 10th Anniversary Fall Family Celebration and Resource Fair. Nearly 800 families and over 25 partners attended this joyful and useful event. See video for more.
August 2022: UCFC published its 2021-22 Annual Report, describing increased services, particularly in public health outreach and expanded day programs for K-12 youth. On an annual basis more than 3000 individuals received support.
May 2022: UCFC was awarded the United Way On Track grant to support 25 local youth aged 14-24 in career explorations.
April 2022: UCFC Coordinator, Jennifer Hawkins awarded Classified Leader of the Year by ACSA Region 6.
September 2022: Union City Family Center awarded an EV2026 grant from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Distributed by the Alameda County Center for Health Schools and Communities, the EV2026 grant award is designed to support the Union City Family Center in its efforts to support children, youth and families in Alameda County. Through this funding we can increase the safety, well-being and supports of vulnerable communities; including preventive health care access; safety net services and collaborative programming for partner agencies.

June 2021: Executive Director Nancy George retires. Joins Steering Committee. With much joy and heavy hearts, we announce that our Executive Director, Nancy George retired at the end of June 2021 to be with her family. Nancy is dedicated to ensuring a successful transition and continued support as a member of our steering committee.
